We will get to know each other in an initial digital meeting and explain the next possible steps. Please get in touch with us using the contact form or by calling +49 361 511 500 12. Our advice and support are completely free of charge for you because we are a project funded by the European Social Fund Plus.
Transparent mediation
We see ourselves as a "bridge" between your new employer and you as a specialist or trainee. The first steps therefore always include a personal interview and getting to know each other via video call with us. We want to find out what professional experience you have already gained and which aspects are important to you for your new job and place of residence. At the same time, we will inform you about the further process, possible costs, requirements and our support options. We will then consider which employer is best suited to you and set up an interview to get to know each other.
Visa and entry process
A number of bureaucratic tasks must be completed before you enter Germany. In addition to applying for a visa, documents must be translated, for example, and your school certificate must be recognized by a German authority before you start an apprenticeship or your diploma or professional qualification. We are very familiar with these processes and will guide and support you in meeting all the requirements for successful entry into Germany. We are in regular contact with you and have drawn up an individual "roadmap" for you.
Integration
For us, integration means that you feel comfortable in your new place of work and residence, not only socially but also professionally, and that you can cope well with everyday life. In the best case scenario, Thuringia will become your new home. We will prepare you and your employer in good time, support you after your arrival in Germany and remain available to answer any questions and challenges you may have.
Nursing specialist for geriatric care
A care worker in elderly care primarily looks after elderly people in need of help. In the past, these employees were also called geriatric nurses because they mainly work in retirement or nursing homes where the elderly people live. Their daily tasks include administering medication, assisting with daily living (e.g. personal hygiene and dressing), documenting their work and general nursing activities. A geriatric nurse works in shifts, including nights and weekends by arrangement, as is common in the healthcare sector.
Nursing specialist
A nurse works with sick people, cares for them and helps with the day-to-day care of patients in hospitals, for example. In the past, these employees were also referred to as nurses. Their daily tasks include, for example, caring for and treating injured or sick people. For example, they draw blood, treat wounds, administer medication, document and assist with personal hygiene. The work is usually organized in shifts, including night shifts and weekend shifts by arrangement.
Physiotherapist
A physiotherapist is responsible for maintaining and restoring patients' ability to move. To this end, they carry out treatments and exercises such as massages and physiotherapy and instruct patients to exercise independently. This strengthens and mobilizes the affected joints and muscles or the entire musculoskeletal system. Physiotherapists help to alleviate pain and rebuild muscles with their work. Their working hours are usually during the day. They work in hospitals or retirement homes, for example.

Thuringia is one of Germany's 16 federal states. It is centrally located in the middle of Germany. We are only active in Thuringia and only work with employers in Thuringia. So we can only support you if you can imagine migrating to Thuringia. This is because we are funded by the Free State of Thuringia from the European Social Fund Plus.
We mainly advise people from our three target countries: Philippines, Serbia and Vietnam.
There are other projects in Thuringia that are responsible for other countries and other sectors, such as gastronomy or the construction industry, and will support you. You can find an overview and contact details here: thaff-thueringen.de

In most cases, language level B2, and in some cases C1, is required to start training. For entry as a specialist in the care sector, you must have at least language level B2. You will need a recognized language certificate (e.g. Telc, Goethe-Zertifikat, ÖSD, TestDaF) as proof of your language skills.
In order to start an apprenticeship, your school-leaving certificate must be recognized. To do this, you must submit an application and provide proof of a suitable school certificate (at least 10 years of school attendance). This must include certain subjects, such as mathematics, two languages or at least one science subject. A certificate in English does not need to be translated, whereas certificates in other languages require a certified translation. We will be happy to advise you on this.
In order to work as a skilled worker, your foreign qualification/professional qualification must be recognized. To do this, you must submit an application for recognition to the Thuringian State Office of Administration, to which you must submit various documents. We will support you throughout the entire recognition process. You can find general information on the recognition of foreign professional qualifications on the recognition portal. Depending on the decision of the Thuringian State Office of Administration, you will receive full recognition or a so-called notice of deficit with partial recognition. The notice of deficit describes the differences to the German vocational qualification and how you need to obtain additional qualifications. This can mean catching up on theoretical and/or practical elements, which you can do in Germany with an employer or on a course. We will also help you here and explain the exact steps.
The costs incurred vary greatly from person to person, as it depends on your knowledge of German, the goal of "training or working as a specialist", your documents and your journey. In principle, however, our project is based on the "employer pays principle". This means that the employer covers as many of your costs as possible. Depending on the employer, various costs are covered in full or in part. These may include, for example, travel costs or a language course. This must always be agreed individually with the employer. Please do not hesitate to contact us in this regard. In a personal meeting, we will break down what costs are likely to be incurred.
After entering the country, you must apply for a residence permit at the immigration office. This will cost you 100 euros. After entering the country, you will also need cash and money for your daily needs (cell phone contract, public transport, shopping, internet, etc.) and for your first rent.
The duration of the process is very individual and depends on various factors such as the processing of the visa, the processing of the recognition application and your language level. In total, it can take several months until all requirements for entry are met. Please contact us for an individual consultation and assessment.
After arriving in Germany, you will have to go to the immigration office, for example. We will prepare you for this appointment and support you in the same way as your new employer.
Depending on the employer, your work will be paid according to a specific pay scale. On average, for example, the gross salary as a nurse is around 2800-3200 euros per month. The amount of your total salary also depends on various factors, such as your work experience, and increases over time.
An apprenticeship is an educational path in which you learn a specific profession. The training usually lasts three years and is often "dual", i.e. you acquire theoretical knowledge at a vocational school and are also trained in your company, where you work and gain practical experience. In this way, you are optimally prepared for the profession and usually receive a "training allowance". Depending on the employer, the theoretical and practical phases alternate in a certain rhythm (e.g. weekly, monthly, etc.). In addition to an intermediate examination, you must pass an examination at the end of your training in which the theory and practice you have acquired are tested.
Yes, you will earn money in most training occupations. Depending on the employer, your training allowance will be paid according to a specific pay scale. On average, the training salary for trainees in nursing is around 1100 euros gross per month in the first year and then increases slightly each year.
As a rule, there are between 20 and 30 paid days of vacation per year with full working hours. The exact number of vacation days varies from employer to employer.
Your employer will support you in your search for a suitable apartment or already has an apartment to rent to you.
