From Vietnam to Thuringia - Experiences from our Trainees
Over the past three years, several young Vietnamese men and women have already begun their nursing apprenticeships in various parts of Thuringia through our project. In the videos, you will learn about their experiences in the months before they moved to Germany, their arrival in Thuringia, and their first few months during their training. You’ll also get a glimpse into their daily lives as apprentices, what it’s like to live and work in Thuringia, and what really matters when settling into life in Germany!

Tran came to Thuringia from Vietnam to complete her three-year nursing training program at the “Haus der Vier Jahreszeiten” senior living facility in Erfurt. She has since successfully completed her training and now works at the facility as a certified nurse.
Nhu and Thuan came to Saalfeld in 2024 through our project. Since then, they have been completing their training there at two different nursing homes run by AWO Saalfeld and plan to finish it in 2027.
Thuy came to Germany through our project in 2025 and is now completing her training as a registered nurse at the Hüttenholz nursing home in Ilmenau.
